ZOOHOTEL Grooming School
The grooming school established by ZOOHOTEL offers dog grooming training for acquiring groomer specialization. Professional dog grooming courses are conducted by experienced grooming instructors.
At the ZOOHOTEL grooming school, special attention is given to everyone who wants to master the art of grooming: knowledge is passed on in a calm environment, in premises specially adapted for such courses. The focus is primarily on practice, and the courses are led by specialists experienced in working with both animals and people.
Our dog grooming courses are intended for everyone who wants to become true grooming masters. We teach how to work with clients, necessary tools, provide basics of dog psychology and cynology, introduce grooming innovations and global trends. During our training, you will quickly grasp the nuances of grooming, absorb theoretical knowledge, and gain practical skills.
The training is conducted in groups of no more than four people. During the course, students are introduced to pet care tools and equipment. The majority of the course consists of practical training sessions, where the grooming specialist gives individual attention to each student, sharing her accumulated experience. Upon completing the course and passing the exam, a diploma is awarded to the groomer.
Training Program
The complete dog grooming course program includes 15 lessons, one of which is theoretical and the rest are practical. Courses are conducted by our experienced grooming professionals, who will gladly answer your questions both during and after the training. The course program offered by ZOOHOTEL covers all essential aspects of grooming: from different haircut styles according to breed and coat type to hygiene procedures. Courses proceed progressively to ensure participants absorb the necessary information and are able to apply the acquired knowledge in practice. In practical sessions, each student is provided with a dog model, ensuring high-quality training without unnecessary delays.
First Lesson
Grooming training begins with theoretical knowledge. This part is important because thoroughly learned theory ensures quality work during practical lessons. The first lesson includes:
- Veterinary theory – dog diseases, symptoms, first aid.
- Finding clients, starting your own business.
- Grooming safety rules and principles.
- Communication with clients, psychological aspects.
Second Lesson
- Using equipment and tools – purpose of grooming tools, working with coat trimming and drying equipment, grooming tools, combing, hand-stripping.
- Demonstration of Yorkshire Terrier grooming.
- Pet cosmetics – how to identify coat types and structure, what products to use, differences between cosmetic products.
- Hygiene procedures – nail trimming, ear and eye cleaning, bathing and drying the coat.
Third Lesson
- Different coat types.
- First practical lesson – de-shedding, combing, bathing procedures.
Lessons 4–14
Practical grooming of different dog breeds.
Lesson 15
The final lesson consists of an exam. During the exam, the student’s acquired knowledge and skills are tested. Upon passing the exam, a certificate is issued. After completing the training, one month of free consultation support is provided.
